Website health

How do I check if a website is down?

Short answer: Use a website health checker from outside your network — if it can't reach the site either, the site is down for everyone, not just you.

The full answer

If the site works for a checker but not for you, the problem is your connection, browser cache or local DNS.

If it is down for everyone, check that your hosting account is active, your domain hasn't expired, and your DNS records still point to the right server.
